We were driving around Buckhurst Hill looking for areas where we would like to live in and had earmarked Fairlands Avenue as one of our first choices. It was such a pretty road, it's lined with trees and is gated into the forest. It's perfect for us as we take our bikes and go out every day with the dog along the path in the woods and our lives have been enhanced by being close to nature, the children loved it here especially, it's a place which offers a quality of life which is free and unspoiled.

We've made some extensive improvements since living here as it hadn't been touched for thirty years, from replastering to installing a new kitchen and bathrooms as well as giving it the lift it needed with new furnishings.

In the summertime, the front room is our favourite room to be in – we love the way the sun moves around the house throughout the day, it's in a nice position on the road and it's very safe here.
