Situation

Jackfield is a small, long established village style community pleasantly situated in the Severn Gorge on the southern bank of the River Severn. It is an area steeped in the history of the Industrial Revolution and is located a little over one mile east of the renowned and historic township of Ironbridge which is now a World Heritage Site.  It is some six miles south of Telford town centre with its wide range of recreational and shopping facilities, including the New Southwater development, the M54 motorway and the town’s central railway station.

Salthouse Road is a small road of similar style period properties situated close to the Maws Craft Centre providing pedestrian access to the front of the property and vehicular access along the riverside to the front and detached garage.

The property

Comprises an entrance porch which gives access to the living room which has a wealth of exposed beams, fireplace with inset wood burner style gas fire, stairs leading to half landing and glazed panel door leading to the kitchen/diner.  The open plan kitchen/diner has tiled flooring, a range of base and wall units – one of which conceals the property’s central heating boiler, integrated oven, grill and hob with extractor hood over.

The half landing has an external door leading to rear access and internal door giving access to the bathroom/wc which has a white suite comprising the usual facilities.

Stairs continue to the first floor where there is an airing cupboard housing the property’s hot water cylinder and access to two bedrooms.  The master bedroom has lovely riverside views towards the front.  The second bedroom gives access to an occasional third bedroom or dressing room/nursery which also has lovely riverside views towards the front.

Outside

The property is approached at the rear via a footpath near to Maws Craft Centre.  Separate vehicular access (shared with the neighbouring properties) which terminates in front of the property and gives access to the good sized detached garage with roller shutter door.  There is a terraced front garden which makes the most of the views towards the River Severn with steps leading down to a lower level incorporating a sitting out area on the flat roof of the garage again with lovely views.

How to get there – from Ironbridge take the B4373 road towards Broseley; proceed over the Free Bridge by the Robin Hood Inn and then turn left following the signs for the Tile Museum; proceed past the Tile Museum and also past the first entrance to the Maws Craft Centre.  Before reaching the craft centre complex turn sharp left at The Half Moon Public House and continue for about 200 yards to the front of the property.   Alternatively, park in the Maws Craft Centre car park and take the footpath to the right when leaving the car park, the rear of the property is about 30 yards on the right.

Tenure – we are advised the property is Freehold.

Services – we are advised mains electricity, water and gas services are connected.  Septic tank drainage.

Council Tax – Band C (Buyers should be aware that improvements carried out by the seller may affect the property’s council tax banding following a sale).
