When my parents moved out of London, they chose Banstead village because it was a semi-rural community at the time, and close to the High Street. The benefits of the location are unchanged today, as it is a few minutes walk to Waitrose, the village shops, cafes and restaurants - an important factor with today's parking restrictions. If the next buyers wanted to extend I believe there is huge potential to convert the loft space and extend over the original garage, although I am not sure if the current foundations would be up to latest regulation standards and the buyer would still need to obtain the relevant planning and buildings approval.
