The naval bases of Faslane and Coulport are located some 2 miles and 7 miles (respectively) from Ardpeaton and are accessible by a regular bus service.

From Helensburgh proceed west along the A814 to Garelochhead. At the entrance to the Faselane base turn right at the roundabout and follow signs for RNAD Coulport.
