Property description
If you are looking for a large home with a bit of character and charm and not too far from everything, then this fantastic property is going to be very hard to beat. Believed to have been built circa 1900, the tall ceilings and large windows really enhance the feeling of space and light throughout the property. Many of its period features remain, including original doors. The location on the Ford Road also means that you will get the best of both worlds as you are just a short walk to the town, Station and the stunning countryside!
The two reception rooms have been combined to create a large impressive lounge/dining area, linked directly to the kitchen it is a great social space for when friends and family come to visit. The utility room is a great space to store your muddy boots and coats and also houses the noisy kitchen appliances.
The bathroom is on the first floor where you will also find two double bedrooms, a few more steps takes you to an impressive master bedroom that occupies the whole top floor of the house, so even with built-in wardrobes and 'Jack & Jill' sinks it’s a great size, you even have a great view.
If you were looking for a little more space with the necessary permissions there is scope to further improve the size as neighbouring properties have done creating a spacious kitchen/family room across the rear of the property.
What the Owner says:
This has been our family home for over 20 years, we have enjoyed living here and so have the boys, creating many happy family memories. Now they have left home we find the accommodation too large for the two of us.
When we initially decided to look in the area we had seen all types of homes, small Victorian cottages to the 1960's houses with great size gardens but neither ticked all the boxes until Ford Road. It had the character that we had really wanted but also the proportions & room sizes that we needed.
The large garden which backs directly onto the ‘Dukes’ meadows has been thoroughly enjoyed by all of us over the years.
