Are you looking for a character home that combines tradition with modern luxury? Built circa 1860 as two cottages, now combined to make a fantastic sized family home. The downstairs layout is flexible and has previously been used to provide an internal annex for a family member. The lounge is a good size but still retains a cosy feel with the open fireplace. In what was the scullery there is a light and bright breakfast area. There is a utility room and cloakroom to one side. The kitchen has been modernised over recent years but is still in perfect keeping with the house- with a cottage feel, with granite work top and plenty of storage it has the bonus of a walk in pantry! The piece de resistance is the vintage stove that gets lit for Christmas time. There is a formal dining room for hosting dinner parties and there is also one more reception that is currently a study. Upstairs the bedrooms are all fantastic sizes, there is a fabulous view from bedrooms three and four across the surrounding downs and countryside. Bedroom one has built in cupboards and like bedroom two looks out across the lane. As well as the attractive bathroom there is a modern shower room that adds a touch of luxury. If you are green fingered then this garden will be your haven. It is a good size, perfect for a spot of 'grow your own' ! Every gardener will delight in the greenhouse, fruit plot, veggie patch and there is a workshop with power. From the back garden Tennyson downs provide the perfect backdrop for this fantastic cottage.
What the Owner says:
We have enjoyed living in this fantastic location for the last 24 years, it's perfectly positioned to catch both the summer and winter sunshine, with plenty of walks across the Downs to choose from it is perfect for dog walking! Freshwater Bay with its cafe and shop is not far away. We have brought our family up here, changing the versatile layout to suit what is needed at the time and we have installed solar panels to offset the heating expenses!
