Property description

Situated in a beautifully designed enclave of attractive properties adjacent to parkland and the River Stour is this superb four storey town house at the end of a charming crescent of Regency inspired terraced properties. It is only a short stroll along the riverside walk to the centre of Canterbury yet the location is very quiet and peaceful as it is at the end of a cul-de-sac. Although only built about 11 years ago from the outside you could be forgiven for thinking this was an original Georgian house as it has been constructed in the traditional manner with aged brickwork and shuttered double glazed sash windows under a slate roof. However, once inside you can begin to appreciate that not only is everything included for modern living, whether you are looking for a permanent home or a truly delightful holiday and weekend retreat, but also the superb quality of the interior specification. This includes beautiful oak doors, engineered oak floors and underfloor heating as well as sprinkler, fire detection and alarm systems. The welcoming hall leads to the attractive dual aspect kitchen/diner with its arched multi-pane windows and modern units housing an induction hob, double oven and built in microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There is a good sized fitted utility room with a washing machine and space for a tumble dryer and a cloakroom as well as a charming dual aspect breakfast/garden room with floor to ceiling side windows and French doors to a delightful courtyard garden. This includes a pergola with climbing roses, a garden shed, space for al fresco dining and access to the gated parking area for two cars.

What the Owner says:
We saw the property before it was even finished and fell in love with the house and the location and felt Canterbury offered the best of all worlds – historic but at the same time full of life and surrounded by the green hills of the North Downs. We have really enjoyed living in this lovely home for the past 11 years but feel it is time to downsize and move nearer our family. It is really quiet and tranquil and it has always been a great place for entertaining whether that is inside or on the patio. We also have parking available for our guests but the parkland and the children's playground are well maintained by the council.
We can walk into the city centre with its historic buildings, schools and colleges, high street stores, individual shops and restaurants alongside the river in one direction or to Asda supermarket the other way and we are not far from the station for the high speed train that can whisk you to St Pancras in just 56 minutes. We are also well placed for access to the M2 motorway, the port of Dover and the Channel Tunnel for trips to the Continent.
