Head towards the front of the house to find three huge double bedrooms. The master would be the rear facing one, with a southerly outlook over the well-maintained surrounding gardens. The second floor has what was once bedrooms five and six. They would be fab when used as living quarters for a live-in nanny as there is a separate shower room. You can always move unsociable teenagers up here too! As if this house didn’t give enough – there is a huge loft space, boarded and insulated, for storing skis and whatnot.

The house is less than five minutes’ walk to Sydenham station, with fast, direct and frequent trains into London Bridge in only 15 minutes. The fab London Overground line also greatly increases your connectivity by putting Sydenham on the tube map. You can be at Canary Wharf (via Canada Water) in under 20 minutes. Sydenham Road is full of lots of useful local shops including a bookshop, gastropub, wonderful Nepalese restaurant, gallery, cafés, greengrocer, health food shop, bakery, fishmonger, butcher and local Co-op and Tesco. For a bigger shop you can drive down the hill to Bell Green in only five minutes where you will find a HUGE Sainsbury's. For a more cerebrally challenging day out you can't do better than a trip to the Horniman's Museum with its fantastic collections and brilliant workshops in the school holidays. The ever popular East Dulwich is but a short bus hop and the bars, cafés and restaurants around Crystal Palace are also easily reached. Finally, if you need to walk the dog you are spoilt for choice with green spaces; Mayow Park (a short stroll), lovely Sydenham Wells, Crystal Palace park and Sydenham Hill woods to name the nearest.
