About the Area
Baltonsborough is an historic village in beautiful unspoilt Somerset countryside, well away from busy main roads yet enjoying good access to the surrounding towns and also the A303 and Castle Cary railway station (fast link to Paddington). The village has a population of around 1,000 and a very active community together with amenities including a post office/village stores, pub, primary school, village hall and an excellent farm shop/butchers. Accommodation
Verland Green Farm is on the outskirts of the village and the farmhouse is a delightful family home with exceptionally roomy living areas and a sunny south facing position within its gardens. The accommodation has bags of character and there's an appropriate rustic feel with flagstones and floorboards and french and stable doors into the garden. It includes an entrance hall with a staircase to the first floor and access to the reception rooms and the kitchen. The hugely impressive 30 ft drawing room has a partly pitched ceiling with skylights supported by full height windows and french doors which make the room exceptionally light and airy. There is also a stone fireplace with a wood burning stove and arched double doors opening into the dining room which also opens back to the hall. This leads to a study and beyond to a comfortable sitting room with a fireplace with a wood burner and a french doors to the garden.

At the other end of the house is the kitchen and breakfast room which has a dual aspect and an an area with lots of space for a table and chairs. The kitchen area has a range of fitted units with a granite work surface, Belfast sink, a solid fuel Rayburn cooker range, an integral electric double oven with electric hob above and a door to the garden.Beyond is a rear hall, bathroom and a utility room with a Belfast sink, fitted cupboards, work surfaces and space and plumbing for washing machine and dryer.

On the first floor there are 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms including the master bedroom which has an ensuite dressing room and en suite bathroom. Two of the bedrooms also have hand basins and the landing has a large linen cupboard. At the top of the staircase the small bedroom was created from part of the landing and this could be returned if required.

Gardens
Outside the gardens approach an acre in size being lawned with mature trees and shrubs. On the northern side is a vegetable garden needing some attention.A real bonus to the property is an enclosed garden area with a heated swimming pool.

The Farm Shop
Currently the owners of Verland Green Farm live in the farmhouse and they own and run the adjacent Farm Shop which also incorporates the village post office. The new shop in the centre of the village is to be built and the post office and farm shop will relocate to it.
