We were lucky enough to purchase this unique character house in 2018 after we fell in love with it on a visit to the Isle of Wight. The original house dates back to 1832, it features a wonderful glass atrium to the front of the house, a beautiful large winding staircase, spacious rooms and to top it all sea views! It has been a labour of love to refurbish the property and it is also a lovely place to live. The back garden has a wonderful large but steep woodland area teaming with wildlife such as foxes, badgers, lizards, hedgehogs and birds etc. With seating areas on three different levels offering sea views, allowing us to sit back and enjoy the sunshine in a tranquil oasis. Like most of our neighbours we deliberately leave the majority of the woodland garden area to mother nature for the wildlife to enjoy which is perfect for us as it means it's low maintenance too. The location is ideal as we are set away from the busy areas but within walking distance to both the beach and the high street, with an eclectic mix of local shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes or to go for country walks on St Boniface Downs which is owned by the National Trust and is an area of Special Scientific Interest. Ventnor is a charming small town which became a popular upmarket seaside resort during Victorian times as it has its own unique micro-climate. We often stroll down to the seafront past the beautiful Cascade Gardens to the beach that's popular with families and surfers, and enjoy a cool drink.
